SHIPPING
INFORMATION-
Shipping is through Delta and
Continental Airlines. The approximate cost is $300. This price
includes the flight, crate and state health certificate. This price is good
anywhere in the U.S. and Canada that these Airlines fly. I prefer to use Delta
Pet First, they are usually direct flights with no stop over.
Price is subject to
change.
Delta now allows Collect Payment
(COD) for shipping of puppies/dogs which allows you to pay for the flight
(on your end)when you pick up your puppy/dog at the Air Cargo Desk with cash,
check or credit card. If you choose to pay COD there will be an
additional $70.00 charge for the state health
certificate(required by the airlines)and crate, plus the cost of the puppy. All
funds must clear the bank before shipping. Two puppies can be shipped
together (same crate) for an additional $60.00.
You may also make your own arrangements to fly
into Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta and I can meet you at the airport if this
would be more convenient. The puppy can be flow back under your seat in a
soft sided carrier which can be purchased for approx $30.00 at Wal-Mart. The
airlines will charge you a fee of approximately $50-$75 for this. You will still
be required to have a state health certificate issued and I will charge a
fee of $65.00 to cover vetting for this certificate and
travel expenses.
Continental Quick-Pak has climate
controlled cargo areas which will definitely be in the best interest of the
puppy/dogs during the mid-summer months. I prefer to use them in extreme
hot or cold weather. Continental does not offer COD payment. Delta Pet First requires that the temperatures not
exceed 85 degrees or be below 45 degrees. It may not be possible to
use Delta due to weather conditions.
Puppies should be approximately 9-10
weeks of age to ship. It is best to ship the puppy during early morning hours or
late evening in the summer months. In winter it would be recommended to ship
during the mid-day when temperatures are warmest.
